I just bought a set of H&R coilovers for my 99 (A3) Gti Vr6. The installation notes say that wheel spacers might be required if using the stock rims. Does this hold true for the Vr6's? I know this kit is also used on the 8v golfs.
Also I purchased this kit from the GB that was just finished late last month. The buy went smoothly and god the coil's in less than a week (wow!). Only problem is I didn't get an invoice. Anyone else get one who participated in the group buy?

Re: h&r coilovers - need spacers? (pgoutsos)

I run stock rims with my H&R coilovers and I found that I did need spacers in the rear - I had rubbing between the inside of the tires and the coils. Some people find they need them and others don't. My car was only rubbing on slow turns, and I only noticed it becuase of the smudge marks on the coils.

I would think you would be OK with the stock 15" wheels, but anything wider will probably require a 5mm spacer.
