I know, I can't believe I did it either, but--a friend of mine bought an '84 Accord for $500 and it died on him. I'm the only wrench-turning friend he's got so he asked me to look at it for him. I pulled the spark plugs and they were so trashed one was missing an electrode. 4 new plugs and BAM! It runs like a swiss watch.
It struck me as funny when I was in the middle of changing the plugs that here I was, a Dubber, fixing a HONDA!

I gotta say though, for a 17 y/o car w/245,000 miles, that thing runs amazingly well.

Heh, yeah, my friend's unemployed and needs this car to get to his new job, so I suppose it's a good deed. And it's not like I *bought* the thing.

I work on my friend's 97 civic all of the time. They're super easy to fix...usually just swap the spark plug and it's happy again. As long as you take them for what they're worth, a dependible, fuel efficient car that's great for commuting or whatever, Honda's are great. And as long as my friend keeps saying things like "damn! there's no way my Honda could do this!" when we're in my car, I don't have any problem working on his.

You helped out a friend, good job. Can't complain about Hondas either, they run forever, and their work in 4-cyl engine development is way ahead of everyone else! Long live the pocketrocket
