Hi all, my haldex control module is toast, and I had the UM triple combo. My tech doesnt know why it failed but it is dead.

First, am I alone/has anyone else had theirs fail? I had regular maintenance and i've only ever done 1 track day.

What are my options? Are the MK6/MK7 modules backwards compatible or am I stuck with the same OEM mkv module?

If I wanted a constant 50/50 (or as close as It will get) power distribution, what are my options?

My stock Haldex control module failed after 3 years and a month, with under 25K miles. VW kindly replaced it under warranty, since my dealer knew me very well and the car was all stock. It is not included in the 100,000 transmission warranty. Others have had theirs go bad. If it were not replaced under warranty, I would get either a used stock controller and flash with UM or get the HPA controller with wireless remote. Cost is probably about the same if you have a failed controller.

My stock module failed about a year and a half ago, when I was at around 110k miles.
I got the HPA Gen 2 switchable controller with the wireless remote, and it's been running great. It's a little more than the OEM version, but worth it in my opinion.
Neuspeed also has a switchable controller, check ECS or their site for pricing.

When yours failed did your traction control light stay on?

Where did you get the UM done? DJM?

If you could source a stock controller for a good price, DJM would probably install it and re-flash for a relatively low cost.

Re-flash usually involves some small labor charge, and since they would already be doing a small labor charge for the module install, it might get rolled together.

No, it wouldn't. The ESP light would come on, then would go off if I turned the car off and restarted it. A VCDS scan showed several errors, but the most glaring were these:

Appreciate this a lot! Did your abs light come on with the abs code?

No, the only light that would come on and stay on until the car was turned off was the ESP one.
