there is a thread in the MK4 forum about how to do it. you need to get acrylic or lucite tubing. heat it up and bend it, then use LED's to illuminate..i couldnt find the tubing at the local HD however

A friend of mine on dtmpower.net did it and it is quite involved. You have to actually buy a set of newer 3-5 series headlights and then rip them apart being careful not to damage the plastic that goes around the headlight.
They you have to do a bunch of custom mounting as well as runnign the clear LED's that it uses to make that light.
I will see if I can find the link and post it so you can see. It was really nice looking when it was done though. I belive the blue M3 you see lit up there was his car actually.

yup that is what i have been planning to do for about 1.5 months now....just cant find plexiglass, lexan or anythinhg like that in rod/tube form

There is a plastics place in cincinnati that should have what you want. You should look in the phone book. There should be a plastics place near atlanta.
