i was wondering where the guy got it from and thought maybe one of you guys knew about it? was it some kind of thing given to VW mechanics that worked at the dealer or whatever? just curious...... i don't remeber what was said about it when he gave it to me because it was back in like 93 when i first bought my G60. if i ever see him again i will ask him about it...

The Corrado is the MOST FEARED vw by any factory tech. there are countless videos and training manuals for the car and if you completed all training you were considered someone who could fix any dub. I would have to say that the patch is real for two reasons -- 1 because of what I just said 2- I have seen it once before-- on a tech's shirt.

I've seen that patch, too. Guy that works on my car (JRC Motorsports) has one.
Here-here for the Corrado being the "most-feared" at the VW Dealerships. I think my car has been personally responsible for sending at least one VW technician to the loony-bin (works at either Acura or Lexus dealership now...).

thanks for the info. i know that the guy that gave me the patch years ago had worked for VW for a long time so i guess he had taken certain courses to get it. very cool.
i can relate to the fact of the Corrado being the "MOST FEARED" because i've had skilled mechanics literally have nightmares about working on my C. i can handle the simpler stuff and i leave the tricky stuff to a select few people.
