Has anyone got a 'Click it or Ticket' ticket yet?

Just wonderin' if anybody has gotten one, or is it more hype than actual enforcement. Or can they give you one while giving you a citation for somethin' else, like registration expired, or speeding, or running a red, etc, etc...

Me too. Thing is, here in NJ, they've become the "well, ok, you weren't speeding SOOOO badly, so I'll give you a no seatbelt ticket instead". They're happy, because they get their fines, which is all they want, and you're, well.....happy as you can be after getting a ticket, because you didn't one which carries points

A guy here a work got one a couple weeks ago. Tried talking his way out of it...didn't happen, i think it was about a $100 fine.

I think its all hype, but I usually wear mine anyway

I always click it, so no ticket for me!

I always wear my seat belt.
Though out my driving history i think I have gotten about 8 of these tickets.
The whole click it or ticket thing never really phased me though as far as making me wear a seat belt.
My ex girlfriend trained me though and now I find that I buckle up 90% of the time on my own now.
The thing about this whole campaign is that the laws didnt change at least in ohio that is. Police have been able to pull you over now for quite some time for just not wearing a seat belt. I think the main thing is that they are supposedly starting to pull folks over more now so than in the past.

My girlfriend got a warning and a pamphlet (
) for wearing the shoulder belt under her left arm instead of over it. Since then I've been trying to figure out how dangerous that is, if it all.

I don't know. I don't mean to sound insensetive, but it's just stupid not to wear your seatbelt. If you're not wearing it, perhaps you deserve a ticket. I'm not one to get into justifying speeding laws, but this is for your own protection. Seat belts are effective at saving your life.

probably snap a few ribs on both sides of your body. I would imagine if the impact was bad enough the ribs could puncture your lungs.

It can do bad things if she's in a crash. If she does it because she's too short for the belt to fit right, she can get a padded thingy made for short people/kids that will make it far more comfortable and safer.
