I heard that when your O2 sensor is changed the dealership/service center flashes your chip. Is this true??? And does it or has it screwed up your chip??? I am interested in knowing in case my sensor goes, which it probably eventually will since it seems to be a common problem w VW's. Any input on this issue is greatly appreciated

Ask some chip vendors. They'll tell you the same.

Actually, I was told by my dealer that this flash will overwrite the chips programming and that I should not have the flashing done (and left it at that).
My dealer knows I have a chip and that's why he advised me.

Yeah, call a dealer (my dealer if you want) and ask if the WA recall will overwrite your chip. If you need to, ask to talk to the shop foreman. Email me if you want the details.
