so I needed a 1200$ cat assembly, WTF? Thankfully it was covered under VW emissions - I was just wondering if anyone else has replaced thiers.

I had to have an oil change on the road during a long drive. . .
Do most people have the oil only changed at the dealership?
wow, that would've sucked to get a 1200$ bill for a 20 dollar oil change.

supposedly one of the ill effects of overfilling the oil is a cooked cat

Isn't the cat connected to the stock DP so you have to replace the whole bugger? Add inflated OEM prices and that makes sense.
