They won't sell those here. While there is a loyal faction of people who might buy the car, not enough to justify the process of getting those oil burners certified by the EPA

No news on a TDI Passat, but a 1.8T 4motion could become reality if enough interest is shown by dealers/customers. Bring on a 1.8T 5-speed 4motion wagon, a powertrain combination not available even in Europe...

As I posted in your survey, I want a lower-cost (sub 25k?) 4 motion wagon without all the extra bells and whistles and would LOVE a TDi (as a former diesel rabbit owner). But VW seems to have left the "entry level" segment behind. I'm sure there is less margin in the lower price cars but the only alternative I have is a Subaru Legacy and that's not TDi nor "entry" enough for me... But I know I'm in the minority.

The dealers have been surveyed regarding interest for a 1.8T 4motion Passat, and now we are awaiting for decisions to be made higher up. Let's hope it happens...

Have those "higher ups" look at the sales numbers of 4-cylinder Subaru wagons (thats the Legacy AND the Outback). And....if they make some lower price configurations available, they will steal sales from Subaru AND NOT from Audi.
