Re: Has anyone heard of tar.ox brake calipers (next)

The Nov. 2001 of the Golf shows the B28 6pot caliper conversion(just caliper, no disk) that will fit inside a 15" rim for $250UK for the pair.

Re: Has anyone heard of tar.ox brake calipers (phatvr6)

hey,
Tarox 6 potters are excellent, stopping power tremendous however the price is also tremendous, when I upgraded my braking system, I initially used pagid pads which are absolutely fantastic for road use, but they really wore down my discs. When I changed to AP 304mm Discs and 4 pot calipers, for raod/track I didnt expect too much but it was a whole new ball game, if your thinking of going for different calipers check out AP racing.
I have used my pads now for the last year and have found a slight wear which is impressive when you consider that my V has seen about 6 hard track sessions. Mind you I also changed my wheels at the same time to 17 by 8 Oz rims.

Re: Has anyone heard of tar.ox brake calipers (alpine)

They are huge brakes but I would advise against them. The calipers are to stiff which can cause problems down the road, I am not going to go into the whole thing. They are also big and heavy, which in turn takes power to make them work, so you are essentially using horsepower to stop your car. Thirdly they are to big for the master cylinder.
If you have brakes that are to big for the master cylinder you will not get good braking. If you want a really good setup that will work with your master cylinder go for the Stoptechs. They are the best on the market at this point. If you want to know about them get ahold of Jason at New Dimensions, he uses them on his Corrado, which i am sure you all have heard of.
