Re: Has anyone installed the new autotech short shifter or OEM audi part? (GolfikT)

The AUTOTECH part replaces the shift linkage under the hood on top of the tranny.I heard the same rumor about the TT part being the same but a think the Autotech is still cheaper. The SS works its not night and day but it is much improved.

Get the AUTOTECH piece its only like 50$ and it looks great ,black with AUTOTECH stamped on the top.I dont know the part number for the OEM linkage or if it is in fact the same part. All i know for sure is the autotech SS works and will make your 5 speed moe fun .

Just got the OEM TT part and will be installing it sometime next week. Will let you know how it turns out. For me it cost a lot less to get the OEM part than having to ship the Autotech part from the USA to Singapore.

same part more or less, autotech is smoothed and painted with autotech emblem.
id like to know if the neuspeed is just linkage?
thinking of mating this linkage to some bushings and a shortened lever.

Re: Has anyone installed the new autotech short shifter or OEM audi part? (yoyo882)

My shop checked on the Audi piece for me about three weeks ago(trying to get it cheaper, of course). Autotech was actually selling it cheaper than we could get it from the dealer. IF we could have gotten it from the dealer. It seems that, according to Audi, there were no TT shifter levers in the country. They would have to come from Germany, and they were backordered.
We sold out of the Autotech pieces, and were told they were on backorder as well.

here's the deal...
the autotech part IS the TT part. it's not 'like' the tt part. the problem is that there are a few revisions of the TT part, and some work better than others. by buying the autotech one, you get the one that's known to be right, and is warranteed by autotech. worth the extra $15 to me.
that all being said, i've heard you can't find any of these around these days. d'oh!
the install is a cakewalk btw. 15 minutes or so....

Installed the OEM Audi TT Short shifter yesterday. So far shifting has been more precise and the throw has also been reduced. Well worth the $30 I paid for the part.
