I am talking about the one where they test the 02' VW Gti against a Ford Focus and Honda Civic Si? The Gti (1.8t) got third place? They said it was mainly because of the wallowing suspension and rubbery shifting.

Also, Car and Driver said the 2002 (1.8t) GTI's 0-60mph time was 6.5 seconds?

I've owned a CRX Si and an Integra GS-R.
Both fine automobiles but nothing to get too
passionate about. I'd rank my Dub way over
both. And personally, I wouldn't hit a dog in
the ass with a Focus...

I have an '99 Acura EL, while they are cheap on gas and dependable automobile, I agree that it is not as exciting as the Jetta or the Golf in this case.
Ever since I bought the Jetta, I have driven less than a 8000km on that car....while I racked up 36000km on my Jetta the first year and a half...that tells u how boring and unexciting it is to drive the EL.
I love my dub and I asked my girlfriends whether they liked the focus or the civic and they all replied NO. They told me don't even think about trading in your DUB....now that feels good......
