I'm changing my manual trans fluid in hopes that it will aid my constant second gear grind. The grind is more persistant now that the weather is wamer. It didn't do it nearly as much over the fall and winter.
What about the Redline oil?

I highly reccommend the transmission treatment from Lucas. It's usually behind the counter at an automotive parts store in a white bottle with blue and red graphics/type. I just used it on my wife's car and it has done wonders! She was losing 2nd gear and when switching to reverse the car would cut off. It would shut off also when it was idling at a stop light. One bottle of that Lucas tanny treatment fixed all of that and it drives better than it has in a few years!
But then again she doesn't drive a VW, all I know is that it works great on transmissions.

Stay away from all the Slick 50 type engine/tranny/gas treatments. More harm than good.
