Most likely the engine is a 1.7L. The engine code is stamped on a machined flat surface on the front of the engine block just below the cylinder head and approximately behind the ignition distributor.
The engine code for a 1.7L is EN. You may have to clean any grease from the machined flat surface to read the code.
