So I have a 1997 Jetta Trek. I'm always looking through here at all the great looking dubs and have decided to upgrade my stock headlights. Would love to hear any ideas or pictures of good replacement headlights. Catch is, I don't want to change my stock grill or hood.

there were some clear e-codes in the classifieds for sale, those would be a sweet upgrade. They would look similar to the stock lights, but the light output would be DRASTICALLY improved

eeeeeeehhhhhhh, without changing at least the grille, the headlights will look cheesy. do it right or not at all
mk4 looks, badgeless/barless grille/carbon fiber hood. all for a GTi, of course

I have a golk mk3 and also want to change my headlights,, I have thought about the mk4 style but think i prefer the dual rounds..
Trouble is I can't decide whether to get the bigger ABT ones or the HELLA ones..
Has any one got any idea which of these two are the better quality allrounders..

Yea, I really like the look of dual rounds but I thought you couldn't put them on the care w/o changing the grill.

How bout a replacement Hood and stock grill from the Autoparts store????? They can get stuff cheap, but quality is a little less, i have a aftermarket replacement Hood (OEM style) that was $115, little thinner metal, but good enough for show. Plus I have a hood vent and other stuff though. and a stock style plastic grill is $15-$20, so $150 plus the headlights and you have a Golf Front end. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

i just put hella dual rounds on my car and i still have my stock grill in place so the headlights will fit with the stock grill. the hellas do put out more light than the abt dual rounds. i say go with the hella dual rounds, you will be pleased.
