1. Can you provide me with a list of replacement bulbs I will need for my 99 Passat so I can upgrade to stock lighting to super white? (I checked out the Philips Vision Plus and they seem high quality).
2. How many bulbs are there? (Hi, low, DRL, fog, etc) and should I replace them all or just the main one?
3. Finally, how easy will this upgrade be -- I'm a novice.

1. check your manual for bulb types
2. per lamp: 1 low
1 high
No fog in headlamp fixture
3. Why its as simple as changing a light bulb

The most important thing to remember is not to touch the bulbs, they are halogen and the oils from your skin will cause the bulbs to burn out very quickly.
There should be directions on how to change the bulb in the manual

went to that website and got MORE confused (again, newbie)
I'm assuming my 99 passat is the passat 10/96 listed.
okay, they have lists for low, main, and fog beams -- totally confusing!
I thought the low beams and main beams were the same thing. are main beams really HIGH beams. and what about DRLs - which beams are those.
Can someone please just be very SPECIFIC and just say -- okay, order this bulb for this beam (and use SIMPLE terminology)

Why don't you look at the bulbs? They should say on them...or ask in the Passat forum I don't know out of my head the US spec ones...
