Does anyone know what the number is and where I can find a replacement bulb for my heater controls? I have a 90 Corrado. Thanks |
See this link, I have proof that the bulb is replaceable.

The bad news is that you can't buy just the bulb, you can buy it for $20 from VW. Its used in the Mk2 G/J automatics, you'll be buying a black clip on housing that holds this bulb.
You could also repair the original bulb.
On the bulb holder there are 2 brass pins. Use a plier and force them towards the bulb. Once you have it out, you'll see that the bulb has welded leads to these pins. Go to an auto parts store and purchase a bulb 2.0W max. These are the tiny wedge bulbs used for most instrument clusters.
I rebuilt these by soldering in the new bulb to the pins.
The other idea as shown in the link above, is to use an LED.
