so... you guys doing Heater Core "deletes"... are you just disconnecting the coolant lines to the core, or are you guys physically removing the core from the heater box too? Do you put something inplace of the core?

if your just doin race application, get rid of the whole core, save some weight (not much, but it is weight)
that was my thinking... But I wonder if I should be putting something in place of the core into the heater box. Not that I'll be using the "heater" per'se, but it is kind of nice to have a little fresh air coming through the vents.... the Car will keep a Stock "looking" interior/Dash.... so I don't want to just rip everything out. I was thinking of maybe a small "frame" with a metal screen to act as a leaf/debris catcher

Re: Heater Core "Delete" Question (Southcross)

The first year I had my VR6 rabbit together the coolant lines were looped with no heater box at all. It was a very cold winter, no defrost. I eventually did put the heater box back in, but I did look into other options.
I came to a conclusion that If I couldn't find another stock rabbit heater/blower box, I would invest in a Flex-a-lite Mojave heater.

I would definitely buy one of these if I were to shaved my rain tray.
