[Oettinger18T]

I got my hands on a set of clear tails for "evaluation". I'm not sure if this topic has already been done but I'd like to know what you guys think. All opinions are welcome, just please do not attack each other for having a different opinion on them. There are a few sets available for sale if anyone is interested. Please excuse the poor quality of pics.

The clear tails just aren't my thing. I would be like to see the effect if someone used them to create DIY Red/Clear/Red Tails

I like the concept, but I don't like all the lines you can see on them. They look like frosted glass. I'm glad you posted pics because I was think about trying a set as well. I just wish Hella would make red/clear/red's for the Jetta identical to the ones for the GTI. Now those I like alot.

i've never liked the all clear tails for golfs or jettas.
prefer the smokes. but its cool to see something different.
as a side note...clear corners on bimmers look good

Yeah, anything would look nice on that car

But honestly, I think a set of Euro-spec tails would look better. The clears would look better on a silver car, because they have a silverish look to them.

Hey Martin, it was nice seeing you too. You took off so early though.
I'm wondering how the taillights would look M5 style (top clear bottom red). Anyone wanna try to photoshop?

I have never liked clear tails, especially because the subsurface colors bleed through. But, it doesn't matter what I like. It's your car and if you dig them then go for it. You shouldn't need our permission or approval to put whatever you want on your car.

Eh, 50/50. I like the idea of clear tails for a Jetta, just not that kind. If someone made a Jetta version of the GTI/Golf's red/clear/clear/red tails, I'd be game.

Thanks for all your comments guys. The taillights were for evaluation only, meaning that I got to slap them on, snap a few pics, and put my own taillights back on. I don't know why the taillights photographed so bad. They really do look better in real life. The camera actually exaggerated the lines, maybe from the glare of the sun or whatever. But when I was looking at it, it was closest to that second pic, where you can see the color through the clear with very subtle lines.
These taillights are pretty much for whoever wants a really eye-catching mod. Please IM me or email me if you'd like more info on where you can buy them from.
BTW thanks for your nice comments on my car too. Yes, that is a Remus exhaust. Here are a few pics of what my car really looks like.
