dude you can get them for 159.95 at http://rapidparts.com/new/Pages/lights.html Get the Golf 4 and not the Jetta 4, there the same except that the Jetta ones come with remote. Now I don't know if "remote" that means switch, call and find out. $160 for fog lights isn't bad., I'd do it but I have the turbo engine.

Re: hella micro DE's for a Jetta (Turbine Driven)

The holes in the lower bumpers are different shapes
the Golf IV has a more rectangular shape to the outer lower cutouts
the Jetta IV has a curved shape to the outer part of the lower cutouts
So I don't think the Golf IV DE's will work in the Jetta

Here's a couple pix to illustrate the differences between the lower grilles in the Golf/GTI and the Jetta

Re: hella micro DE's for a Jetta (jetta_fiend)

so the plastic grill cost $50 each? Can't he just buy the grills from hella? I doubt they'll cost $50 each.

http://www.parts4vws.com have them.
remote means wireless remote that means they wouldn't be controled by the headlight switch.
Re: hella micro DE's for a Jetta (landrumdh)

i heard u can hook the wires in a way so that your euroswitch can control them
Re: hella micro DE's for a Jetta (austieB2.ohhh)

here is picture from rapidparts but I would like to see how they look on the car
they cost 285$

Re: hella micro DE's for a Jetta (Audi)

A remote control transmitter (located in a convenient position such as the dashboard) sends a signal to a receiver in the engine compartment. Therefore, you no longer have to run wires through the firewall.

I didn't use the remote control because it looks ugly... I use my euro switch instead... hope you like it
... oh well if you wanna ask if it worths the price, I would say no...

A
Re: hella micro DE's for a Jetta (adsl_keeki)

did you have to paint the grilles to match the stock center grille? if you did, how did you do this?
thanks
Re: hella micro DE's for a Jetta (austieB2.ohhh)

Has anyone actually been able to install these lights onto a 1.8 T. Everyone states that you can not do it. Might block the intercooler or something.
Anyone have any input?
Thanks in advance...
Re: hella micro DE's for a Jetta (18T_WOLFSBURG)

It's probably safe (not harmful) to put 'em on a 1.8T but you would generally want as much air hitting the IC for performance reasons... I guess the TT wheel liner mod, or some way of throwing more air over there would minimize the shortfalls.
Re: hella micro DE's for a Jetta (austieB2.ohhh)

If you are worried about the $250 price tag, Lanspeed sells a cheaper model at $129.95. Keep in mind it DOES NOT come with a harness or switch. You would have to do the wiring for yourself.

I know that I have a Golf, but I love the look of the Hella's. They are extremely easy to install. Mine only took me 45 minutes. I also have the factory fogs in mine so 4 fogs in one car. A bit much but at least I can see at night. Here is a pic of it at night

Re: hella micro DE's for a Jetta (adsl_keeki)

hey adsl, how'd you wire them into your euroswitch? I got mine off that initial group buy months ago, but after I got them installed never bothered to figure it out..
