Honestly, who cares if this stuff has been posted yesterday, last week, last month, or 1986. I don't LIVE on the Vortex, and I just find it annoying that some of you choose to point out the fact that threads have been posted before. I, for one, benefit from the multiple postings, as I don't spend every waking hour in the Car Lounge.
Hell, I'll probably get a "Hello and welcome to..." for THIS.
Oh well, thanks for the time to rant.
Mods: I know this isn't car related, but it sure relates to this forum.

Re: "Hello, and welcome to...NOW." (99GTI2.0)

usually when people post that, I say, "wtf? I just saw it today?!"

EDIT: And my memory's so bad, I usually can't recall if it was posted before or not.

I agree sometimes it's annoying when people do that.
But if a topic has been covered many times in the last week or so I also find it annoying if another thread has been started for it.

Re: "Hello, and welcome to...NOW." (99GTI2.0)

can someone explain to me as well, what is the 'cost' of having extra topics posted? I mean yes it moves down potentially more 'important' topics in the lists, but its not like they're using major amounts of bandwidth/disk space/erasing more important posts?
some people seem to love to get on other people's case for 'wasting' threads but what are you really using up? its like people who post in a topic to say 'i just read all 39 pages of this topic and its such a waste of bandwidth!' hehe

But you gonna admit there were tons of WRX reviews appear in one single week is pretty CRAZY. Remember there was a time when the whole Car Lounge was talking about their driving impressions of WRX.

Well, there are a few things that make me want to scream I've seen them so many times (no need mentioning them since we all know what they are). But there's been plenty of times when I've seen something for the first time and some jagoff has gone ahead and posted a "Welcome to last-whatever" It's really lame, and honestly, I don't give a flying fudge if you've seen it already.

i agree.
but really it doesn't matter to me, in fact, i enjoy when somebody posts silliy pics with the "welcome to last week" sign. anybody has the right to post (as long as you are registered and if it's car related)....
