when in idle i can hear a funny sound under the the hood near the air filter. a rubbing sound (metal rubbing metal?) plus a papid "t.t.t.t.t" sound but it goes away when I press the clutch. What is going on???
it might be your throw out bearing in your clutch...especially if it goes away when you press the clutch in. is it high pitched?
can you also hear it from under your car when then hood is closed?
i have the same problem... but mine does not go away when i step on the clutch. i can vary the speed of the ticking by stepping on the gas. but still this thing is really annoying. anyone know whats going on?

Sure it's not just the valves? 20 of them should produce some noise.
