HELP. Can't do rear wheel alingment on 98 GTI VR6.

I got alingment but the mechanic couldn't allign rear wheels. They told me that they couldn't make rear shims to work because they interfeared with some sensor, ABS I think. Is it possible to allign them?? Should I go to the stealership and get raped? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

how low are you dropped? 1-2 inches shouldnt be much of a problem if you routinely rotate your tires.
otehrwise, dealer would be the best place to get your alingment. they dont charge that much more. i belive its around 80 bucks.

The dealer will tell you the same thing. there really is no adjustment for the rear. Unless its way out and then they will shim it to get close to spec.

It's way out. Do you know if they have special shims? The ones my mechenic has are a no-go.
