forgot to mention that the car won't crank
Re: help!! car won't start (wlmack)

details??? do you mean the engine wont turn over but the starter is spinning?? in that case, it would/could be that the starter is not mounted ridgidly, the gear is sheared, ummm... bad field in the started motor... but if your car "wont start" ... its hard to win the powerball

sorry for not being clear, yes the starter spins but the engine doesn't turn
how doI know if the starter is mounted rigidly or not? how do I know if the gear is sheared? I mean there is a little wear on the gear but it seems like normal for a car 11 years old. you don't think the engine could have locked up on me (i bought the car from someone)
Re: help!! car won't start (wlmack)

how long has it been since the motor has been turned over? i know it sounded sarcastic (it was) but i guess that if the battery wasnt charged enough then it simply wont turn the motor. did you check both the starter pinion and the flywheel gear teeth? I imagine its a starter issue..what i dont know...... to check for the engine not being froze, i say get some buddies over and give 'em a beer to push the car down the road while you drop the clutch in 2nd, that should turn it! good luck http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif oh, also, gear wear should be fine as long as it isnt sheared, to see if its rigidly mounted, grab on to it and try to move it, if it moves, its not rigid
