i am re running my sub power wires and want to run them under the carpet... i've removed the two T20 screws in the rear ashtray, and the two (one per side) T20s just aft of the shifter(they have little trim covers on them)... it moves up about an inch or so, but no more, i kinda need to get this done soon so any help would be appreciated!

Did you remove the armrest? If not that might be the problem... If you have, then gently lift the area behind the shift boot while a helping hand pushes the front part of the console down, and pulls it back and out. Hope that helps.

Might get better response in "car audio"... Its cleaner to run it with the other wires.... under the panels on the driver side of the car after you run it through the hole in the firewall. GL & enjoy your tunes !!!

First you need to take out the center console. Pop the side piece off. The one on the driver side. I am talking bout the piece that is round on the top and goes down into the center console. Then there will be a screw. Undo that and remove the console. You need to pull out the rear ashtray by poping off the round sidepieces on both sides and manipulating the tabs on actual ashtray. Then on the cupholder bend up the tabs (under ashtray) and pull it out. They remove the scres under that holding the console down. Then remove the screws that hold the two console pieces together (behind the shifter). That will allow u to remove the rear console. (Be careful. There are 4 tabs that go under the front console where the 2 are joined). For the front console. Remove the screws in the footwell. Also u will need to remove the ashtray bu pulling out the asthray, and then removing the screw underneath. Then you can pull the whole ashtray assembly out. Then you need to be very careful removing the console, but it wil come out. It is also hooked in by the footwell screws, but it will come out. Good luck

I've removed my armrest before, but in your case, I would run the wires along the driver's side door sills and up the rear wheel well. Otherwise, I believe your wires will create little humps in the carpet after they exit from under the center console.

finished it soon after i learned how to remove the armrest!! nope, no humps at all (i'm only using 8 gauge power cable, with anything larger i'm sure there would be a hump)now all i need to do is get a new O-ring for my ground cable so i can reposition my amp... right now the amp is right behind the rear seat(in the cargo area), with the ground wire running up the side of the carpet and to a bolt in the CDChanger area...
