i already taken my headlights apart, i really don't know what's the best method to mask the area i dont want to be painted and i peeled off some chrome from the high beam reflector with green painter's masking tape.
can anyone with experienced on them can give me some help and guide me thru the process?

have a talk with Turbo_nasty... he did his. from what i remember they looked good. i thought he bought euro smoked ecodes when he first showed me http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

I cut paper to the size of the high/low beam, same for the fog and turn signal, and cut 4 slits in each piece, just enough for a bit of tape to hold the paper down, that way if the chrome peeled off it would only be a tiny spot rather than the entire chrome surface.
I left the outer ring chrome as well, rather than paint the whole thing, I can post some pics tomorrow

I was able to mask crap out of mine using the green tape without any problems.

I had a similar problem with a pair of HIDs I repaired last year. Canadian Tire sells a chrome tape that you can use to repair the highbeam area. The chrome tape is about a 99% match so only you will know it is there. You'll find it where they sell pin striping..............

For anyone about to do this, there are places that sell LOW TACK tape, and even this is no guanrantee that the chrome wont peel.

I thought i was the only green jetta on the vortex. I never seen another green mk4 on here.

Don't mind the bugs, its gonna rain so I didn't feel like washing it.

i will drop by Crappy Tire and check out the chrome repair tape
