Cheap guage
Re: HELP: MY GTI IS RUNNING RICH (kingofA2`s)

Check the codes. May be the o2
Re: HELP: MY GTI IS RUNNING RICH (BigBoostedBunny)

its autometer. i know for sure its not the gauge
Re: HELP: MY GTI IS RUNNING RICH (raresilvergti)

too much fuel or not enough air or bad maf or bad O2 sensor. make sure a squirrel didn't build a nest in your intake.
Re: HELP: MY GTI IS RUNNING RICH (JettaRed)

ur okay man
deos ur gauge sit at the most RIGHT on green when ufloor it?
thats normal , its supposed to, its normally aspirated.
Re: HELP: MY GTI IS RUNNING RICH (JimGTIVR6)

it sits all the way rich (green) when i'm not flooring it. actually it does it mostly when i'm at idle
Re: HELP: MY GTI IS RUNNING RICH (raresilvergti)

doesnt mean anything. the only time an autometer a/f guage is correct is when u floor it. it just bounces around at idle
Re: HELP: MY GTI IS RUNNING RICH (JimGTIVR6)

i know what its supposed to do. it stays all the way rich all the time. it doesn't matter if i am flooring it or if i am at idle
Re: HELP: MY GTI IS RUNNING RICH (raresilvergti)

What about during partial throttle--normal driving? During deceleration?
Running rich at idle is not unusual; running lean during decel is normal.
Did you just install the a/f guage and you're saying this? Or have you had the gauge in for a while and there's a change?
Re: HELP: MY GTI IS RUNNING RICH (JettaRed)

it runs rich just about all the time. every now and again for a few minnutes it will run normal but then it goes back to rich. i have had the gauge in the car for a while and just recently this started happening. i also have a na timer in my car that reads the a/f ratio, so i have two gauges telling me the same thing. i'm going to try changing my o2 and see if that works.
Re: HELP: MY GTI IS RUNNING RICH (raresilvergti)

If you can pull the o2 , see the tip covered in black carbon, you should replace it....MAF is usually the most likely culprit...Befor you spend, try to get some codes pulled......
Re: HELP: MY GTI IS RUNNING RICH (Magnaflow.CA)

What are other symptoms of a bad O2 sensor? Bad idle?
Mine is running rich, but I can only tell by smell. A/F and NOS gauges in the mail...
thanks
