(STOCK changer for 95 golf, HU is built for the changer)
bought it used off the ineternet... HU wont recocnize the changer, changer won't eject tray.
I'm trying to dig up a volt meter to test if the cord is getting 12 V through it... any tips with this?

I've seen it happen where a perfectly fine changer won't connect to the HU. I think it means that the HU was busted when someone plugged in the wrong cable (or attempted to do so) or something similar, never did find out what it was. My friend had his problems go away after they bought a new premium type HU.
My suggestion is to find a buddy with a similar brand HU and try plugging it it.
PS: This isn't one of those clarion vs panasonic issues, right?

just got mail from another forum... yup, turns out it is... deck says clarion, changer says matsu****a (panasonic). Thanks for your reply.
