Ok, so I am getting rid of my american made hunk and going all German. My lonely bus needs a C next to it in the garage. I found a 90 G60 for sale. It has all papers from the first owner when purchased in SEA new, and the 2nd owner now. He is asking 3k obo. It has 133k on it. New exhaust, perfect interior,(sunroof even works along with power windows). Needs a new hose to the intercooler and a new paint job. Sound worth 3k to you? What else should I look for when I go look at it? Thanks.

Re: help on a G60 (vdubin90)

sounds good to me. new paint is all you need then good, and the sunroof still works. Check the IC tubing to see if there is a leek right underneath of the battery, that tends to happen. cant think of anything else.

Re: help on a G60 (dbnbde)

Sounds good to me as well, I have one with over 144K on it I bought it bone stock with 130K on it just a little over a year ago. Make sure you drive it and see if the tranny synchros are ok, the second gear synchro tends to be the 1st to go on our trannies. Also check the small cog belt of the G60 (SuperCharger) this tends to be a good indicator of the last time the G60 was serviced. Go to http://www.corrado-club.com/ and look at the FAQ/Tech Tips section and look for the tip on how to get the MFA (Computer) read the intake boost presure. If it is a stock unit it should read between 8-9PSI (around 211 on the MFA). This way if it is way off, you can try to jig him down on the price, because a rebuild will set you back about 600 bucks. Without the G60 you'll have about a 90HP car!

Thanks Shinny and Tex. Oh, thanks Vdub for the smart @$$ remark. I may only have 2 posts up, but that is because I changed names. I know about it, but like to maybe hear from others that are more fellow dub then you. I only say that because you took the time for the remark. I will be sure to check that spot Shinny, and Tex, I will see if I can figure out how to get the reading of the boost.

Re: help on a G60 (dbnbde)

Maybe I just got a super deal on my C but $3K sounds like a little high for a car that needs paint. I bought a bone stock '90 G60 w/ 150k for $3100 in LA last Sept. Beautiful and clean inside and out. The only problems it had were the spoiler and sunroof. Offer low, say $2k, and see where you get. Set the price you want to pay for the car based on what you have to do to it to to get it where you want it and what you would have to pay for a car that is already where you want it.

Re: help on a G60 (thetatau87)

i payed 5k for mine. it is stock except for the 15" bbs rims and it is the highest package deal (the one with leather seats and all of those goodies) and it had a new paint job but looks like i gota get another one (some dork in a parkling lot hit my car and ran) but that sounds like a good deal there.
