VW uses Pentosin ATF which is great. Get it from you dealer. Your car is very new, I wouldn't fool with anything less than VW oem fluids. It's okay to have the fluid drained, now you should just plug up that hole (which you probably already did then fill it according to manual (make sure it's got at least the minimum amount) then have it towed to the dealership (unless you have a good mechanic you trust) and have them do a flush, filter change, and fill. It won't be cheap, the fluid is expensive and VW dealerships charge over $100/hour (though this should be about a 1 hour job plus cost of fluid and filter, you're looking at over $200, sorry).
Hope that helps, bummer about the fluid loss. You really need a mechanic for this since you don't have the shop manual (Bentley) and I assume you don't have a VAGCOM tool which is needed to tell you how much oil to put in and it's temp and what not..
