HELP PLEASE!

577 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  Bora18t
I've got a 2001 Jetta 1.8T.
1. I wanna change the cat back system of my car, supersprinit or remus is better?(I'm looking for one which is not too noisy and with the biggest power gain)
2. My friend said that the cat back will become rusty in a few yrs, is that true?(Because I have to cut the stock cat back for putting the new cat back on.)
3. I'm planning on chipping my car too. I have no idea which one is the best.(Garrett,APR,Neuspeed.......etc)Why Neuspeed is a lot cheaper than the others???
4. My jetta came with the sport package which has the 17" wheels and sport springs. Is that a good idea for just buy a set of Koni sport shocks? I know coil over is a lot better, but it's too expensive for me....
Thank you very much

Re: HELP PLEASE! (JettaB)

Supersprint uses stock sized 2.25" piping. I don't think Remus makes a cat-back exhaust. More like a resonator-back exhaust. Both have deep-mellow tones, and they are not very loud. I had a Jetex which was a 2.5" cat-back, it was very quiet, but I felt it was restrictive. As far as a cat-back becoming rusty, the cat-back doesn't require welding because it is cat-back, not resonator back...no welds.
As far as chips go, I'd stick with APR, GIAC, or Upsolute. I haven't heard too many people raving about Neuspeed chips. As far as which one to choose, you'll hear many different opinions, but it all comes down to personal preference.
