HELP! UPS lost it, what can I do?

Let's just say there was sumthin VW inside da box so this doen't get locked

So I was not at home when the UPS guy left the package in front of the door and I think someone snapped it.

I didn't leave any note instructing him to do so and I believe the shipper didn't sign the waiver either. The neighbors didn't see anything.
I know this has happened before and I'd like to get some advice on what to do. I don't feel like throwing away $200. What rights do I (and the shipper) have or don't have? I'm sure they'll say they left it on my doorstep and it's not their fault that someone stole it. But I don't buy that, it IS their fault because they left it in an unsecure place.
Just wanna know how to get the money back to the shipper without waiting two months or falling for some scams...
Any help would be appreciated.

how big was it? if it wasnt big enough to leave in your mail box, then they would leave a note and have you pick it up.. or call and reschedule a drop off time.

Dunno how big, but their tracking info says it has been delivered and they confirmed it over the phone (quick call, gunna call again tomorrow). No yellow slip, btw.

tell them you never got it, if it was insured I'd think you'd get your money back.
My mom ordered something from shop at home. And when she got the box it had been opened / resealed. Her expenseive (several hundred dollar) earings were gone. Took about a month, many phone calls, and lots of paper work saying your not lying and stuff but she finally got another set sent out.
I'd call who you ordered from and UPS again and tell them what happened and don't take SOL for an answer.
Ohh btw to finish my story my mom ended up returning them because she didn't like them!!
