OK i dont know what the deal is but i have all the bolt on parts like schrick 268 cams and VGI, big bore TB, ported&polished head, Garret chip and all the goodies but i only dynoed at 155BHP. I did a air/fuel mapping at the dyno and they said it was running very lean. So what could the problem be? What mechanic would u guys recommend other than VW Specialities?

Sorry to stray off topic, but where did you have your car dyno'd? I'm looking for a good shop in the LA area that has an A/F sniffer and preferably a dynojet. How did you like the shop?
With regard to your problem, do you have the garret chip for the 268's?

i could be way wrong but i think garret only makes a program for 256's....although i've only looked into this for my 99.5 vr6. so llike i said i could be way off.

Start with the basics. Lean means too much air for the fuel, or not enough fuel for the air. When did this happen? After the mods?
You either have unmetered air, faulty MAF/O2 sensors, or inadequate fuel delivery--i.e., injectors are too small or fuel pressure too low.
If the MAF and O2 sensor check out, and you have not intake leaks, you may want to try larger injectors or upping the fpr.

if it was an o2 or maf wouldn't his cel be on? he did'nt say if it was or wasn't but his post leads me to believe that by all accounts things seem to be normal with the exception of lower than expected dyno results. although i do know that running lean is a symptom of bad o2 sensors...hmmmm......again does garret make a program for 268's?

Not necessarily. The CEL is concerned primarily with events that affect emissions. I've had codes stored that said I was too rich and too lean without the light coming on. However, misfires that can damage the cat will always throw the light on.
Over time, the o2 sensor may cause the CEL to come on, but it's not that discrete. The ecu doesn't know if the o2 sensor is bad or if it's reporting values that are truly bad.
