HELP!!! Wipers don't work and inspection is up in one week...

I just bought a 90 Jetta 8v. The wipers dont work... I checked the fuse and it was fine. Give me other options.... I'm running out of time!! It wont work in any setting and i hear no noises. Thanks!!

check the relay, see if the wiper is getting any power. it could be a bad wiper motor. hope this helps

You'll have to test the ground and feed to the wiper motor the the switch.

take the wiper arms off and check if the assembly is working at all, it might not be catching.. then your cheapest solution would be to buy the complete motor assembly at a junkyard for about $50US/$70CA and replace it (it's very simple but you'll be swearing a whole lot trying to get it in/out) if the cheap solutions that the other guys gave you don't work.

As Vdubs said, check for power at the harness connector closest to the motor. If you have power then its gotta be the motor. This will at least narrow it down to one part of the system or another. Then just trace backwards until you find your fault. Or yuou could approach it the other way. Follow it from the fuseblock forward until you find the fault.. I concurr with checking the relay also..
