im going a manual trans swap to my 99 audi a4 1.8t. I have been told that the automatic crank chaft is diffrent from the manual crank. my question is are the cranks diffrent? if so is there a way to use the auto crank. please help thanks

the manual crank is the onyl crank with holes for a flywheel

if you waanna use the auto crank keep the auto trans, thats teh only way

i have both cranks out now and both have bolt holes.

correct me if im wrong but the front wheel drive dosent have a piolet bearing in the crank. i used the auto crank on my 5 speed transmission and went tgethr perfect.

No you are absolutely right. 02J transmissions don't use a pilot bearing period.
