Re: HELP WITH OIL IN MY INTAKE TUBE (Ciabreeze)

quote:

I just got in my Eurosport Intake and when i was installing it i noticed that there was oil in my intake tub leading to the manifold, somebody please help me with this prob

At high RPM/oil pressure, the camshaft sprays off oil which makes its way down the crankcase ventalator tube/breather and end up in your air box and intake tube. You can buy a filter that sits ontop of the camshaft to prevent this common occurance, which I call "camshaft overspray".

Actually, we need to know what engine he has. (PLEASE IDENTIFY YOUR CAR AND ENGINE WHEN ASKING QUESTIONS!)
I don't know about earlier engines, but the AEG engine has a camshaft cover under the valve cover to keep oil spray from getting into the breather tube, though it still does.
I agree that high rpms may atomize the oil and the droplets will find their way into the tube and collect there. It shouldn't find it's way into the airbox of an AEG engine though. It would have to go through the MAF and against airflow to get there.
(The AEG engine is in 99.5 and later cars.)

It doesn't sound good. It sounds like your air filter wasn't filtering. I'd replace the air filter and get a professional engine flush. When was the last time you changed your oil?

quote:

i just took off my Weapon R filter and i found the same thing OIL !!!!!!!!!!!!!! and then i remembered this POST..... someone posted that U need a Breather.... etc... I got one and i still FOUND oil.... plus like 5 days ago. I turned on my car and i saw all this black smoke coming from the tail pipe and when i turned off the engine and tried to turn it back on , IT wouldnt !!!! but after 2 mins it did... and ever since i havent seen the smoke again.... BUT WHY is there OIL in my intake TUBE? and i also felt a lil gravel in the oil also Hmmmm...

Burning oil from the tailpipe will be white. Black smoke from the tail pipe is probably a rich fuel condition. You might want to look at that "gravel" more closely as it may be metal shavings from your motor going south. I have seen what appeared to be sand in the crank case. It turned out to be a completely shaved down crank bearing (and knocking motor)

quote:

there is always oil in your intake piping. It's suppose to be there. hence the oil return line leading into the intake piping. it's there for lubrication. no need to worry.

What are you talking about? Lubrication. The line going from the valve cover to the intake pipe is for emissions control to recirculate unburned gases through the intake--not lubricate anything. What would it lubricate? The throttle body?
A little oil is unavoidable. A lot would be unexplainable.
