Sorry if I missed it in the search, but here is my problem
2001 Jetta GLS 1.8t Wolf AWW
Symptoms-
CEL - On
EPC - Comes on after idling for a while, the engine will drop revs or die and then the light will come on. After sitting for a few hours it will go off.
While driving it seems to be lacking in power and sometimes surges.
Replaced pre cat o2 sensor with a minor change for about 20 miles and then the same symptoms came back.
I am guessing at this point that it may be MAF but not positive.

Codes:
P0171 System too Lean (Bank 1)
P0300 Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
P0301 Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected \______Sometimes other cylinders.
P0302 Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected /
P0320 Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
P0321 Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Range/Performance

Any and all help would be appreciated. If I missed it in the searches, sorry.

Just replaced the MAF, and cleared out the codes with the ODBII. Drove the car for about two miles and it jerked/surged leading to the CEL and EPC lights to come on again. Scanned it once more and got.
P0321 Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Range/Performance
P0322 Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit No Signal
Any suggestions at all please.

you maf was mostlikely NOT the issue...it looks like you have a bad cam or crank position sensor.
that would have been the 1st item to rule out...the maf was mostlikely reacting to this and the misfires...have you addressed them yet?

I had the exact same problem in my wolfsburg, and after trying to figure it out on my own, I gave up and let the dealer fix it.
The Maf and throttle body went bad, and I had a bunch of broken breather hoses. I had a few of the same codes as you, such as cylinder misfire, and engine running lean, which is the maf i believe.
