What are you making it out of? Why not just buy one that is done for you?

Re: help with rear sway bar (crazykidbig58)

id most likely make it out of 1" DOM tubing. which is close to a 28mm swaybar that someone would buy from a store.
why would i make it? well to buy the material it only will cost about $15 and im in a chassis fabrication classand it will look like the shine once its complete. but i just need the measurements or someone with a mk3 so i can measure it out.

if your using tubing (hollow) then you need to rethink. Otherwise good luck.

well u can get some serious tubing......umm u could buy a good quality steel, with like 60 or 80 wall......thatd be pretty nuts......it is much more fun to build ur own stuff.....currently trying to do a carbon fiber interior.....thanks to vwoah hahaha, got me hooked

well i since i have a mk2 i started making them first. basiclly the same concept just little difference in dimensions. im using 1"x.560" DOM. so far i got the sleeves for the bolts done and notched already tomorrow ill weld it together and probably get it powdercoated. its nice to be at a auto school that has everything right next to eachother and alot of people that can help u out. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
as for the mk3 swaybar i gotta measure everything from my buddys gti, i hope to get atleast 1 mk3 done before next thurday(last day of class).
ill post some pics if i get the mk3 done if not ill put my mk2 up
