have a 2 dr gti with rear passenger windows that go down.
weld and shave the handles on the 4 dr golf. replace the front two seats with 2 dr seats that adjust for passengers to get in the back.
then u get this...
..inspired by that blue 2dr a3 jetta.

might not work, 2 door cars have bigger front doors, might be a hard squeeze getting in.

but why not just get a gti? but then again.. having 4 opening windows and a sunroof minimizes back boom too..

Someone posted this a few months back asking nearly the same question, "Can someone photoshop my golf to a 2 door? He wanted to weld the rear door closed, and shave the handle...I remember him getting flamed for doing so....I just found it odd that now it's a great idea...
I thought about it, and I once thought it would be kinda cool, but I'd rather keep the 4 doors for functuality (sp)

I agree, the front doors are too short, so getting anything in the back would be a PITA. Plus 4 door Golfs, especially with a VR6, kick ass!

It'd be pretty cool, but keep this in mind: If the car ever got broken into or the window regulator broke, you'd be sh1t outta luck. You can't access the window mechanism without removing the door panel, and you can't remove the door panel if you can't open the door. Could be fixed so you can remove the rear panel with the door closed though, just something to be aware of. I'd like to see it happen!

I just got a vision of this Golf with a custom version of the old skool Reiger wide body. Like the ones on the Sciroccos and Raddos.
I think I saw a pic posted a few months ago (by LBS IIRC), of something similar on a GTI. It looked crazy wide from the rear.

Plus, you could run Lobstrosity's 15x11 BBS RS's back there then...
