I just had the headgasket done on my engine which has 143k on the clock. If i try and accelerate it pulls until around 2k rpms and then hesitates until about 5k. When I let off the gas the car bucks pretty hard and the idle either drops to 250 or fluctuates between 1000 and 1200. The only engine mod is a header back exhaust from autotech but I did not have any problems after it was installed. Please help as it driving me bananas

If this wasn't a problem before, the first thing I would check would be the valvle timing. Its pretty easy. Line up the mark on the crankshaft pulley with the mark on the lower timing belt cover (top of pulley). Then take off the top half of the timing belt cover and see if the mark on the camshaft pulley lines up. I bet you're a tooth or two off.

Check your O2 sensor and the wires on the O2 sensor.

*start broken record mode* intake leaks, temp sensors, o2 sensor*end broken record mode*
Something has been left disconnected from the reinstall of the head. Check it out.
