well, my oil light is blinking and buzzing, supposed to meen low oil pressure right? well i was told it was most likely the switch on the oil thingy flange so I disconnected it started the car held the idel above 2200 and the light and buzzing started again. Then I replaced the switch/sensor and it did the same thing. I changed the one on the side of the head also. And the last thing is, my temperature dial on the guage cluster isn't working either(the light will blink when I first turn the car on but that is it) I dunno if it is related to the oil pressure switch problem thats why I mentioned it. Any idea's? anything at all would be greatly appreciatted

buy a 10 dollor mechanical gauge and u will never be guessing again..same for water temp and amperage ..a little install time and .30 bux for some peice of mine is cheep ....the vw clusters are known for ...oil pressure buzzer and crazy water temps too....so get u some aftermarket gauges...and u will know whats going on not what your cluster thinks is going on

Sounds like your clinstruments are bust (that's your instrument cluster, in case you aren't fluent in esperanto). If you disconnect the sender on top of the oil filter head, your buzzer will always sound once you go over 2150/2200 ish - so don't worry about that. Sometimes the oil pressure board inside the cluster can blow, which can cause the same problem, but if the temp gauge isn't reading either it sounds more like broken wires to the cluster.

hey guys, I changed my instrument cluster. From my buddy's car witch runs premium. I plugged it in to my car and got the same problem
could it be in the wiring???

prolly bad conections ...clean them all including grounds ...i bet it runs better and solves a few other small problems...if not most of the time there is this little chip on the back that make everything screwy like 3 bux at stealer..cant think of the name rite now

Just beat the hell out of the dash.. that usually fixes all Mk2 problems

sounds like a good idea! I have to change the dash anyway, not to complain but the previous owner tried to put a newer dash bezel(screw in type) into the dash(clip in type) if anyone has tried this it looks like crap and doesn't fit right. The clip in bezel won't even cli[p in now.
