That's what I thought the first couple times but I don't think it is anymore. If they are really just testing us it's ridiculous.

Hi camo86 gti welcome to The Car Lounge (TCL)! A few things to know before you get started:
Rule#1 - always post a picture with each new topic to get more views
Rule#2 - check your spelling and grammar to avoid the spelling nazis
Rule#3 - always search before you post, if you have a question, it's probably already been asked, many times
Rule#4 - think before you post, and be prepared for ridicule, sarcasm, and irony
Rule#5 - if you own a Mk4 VW Jetta, Golf, GTI, proceed directly to the MK4 forum, do not pass go, do not collect $200, or keep it as your little secret
Rule#6(d)(2)(iii) - When in doubt, Google
While originally started as a VW enthusiast website (vwvortex), TCL is shared through other websites (mwerks, tripplezoom, fourtitude) and all brands and models are welcome. Many members have had a negative experience with VWs and are not receptive to VWs, but TCL does retain a euro-centric interest.

1. yes you can turbo your car, if you can afford too.
2. a t4 is too general of a turbo, you need to state the cold side and hot side numbers of your compressor housing
3. as far as manifolds, are you referring to intake or exhaust?
if intake yes, and exhaust, yes, look in the forced induction forum or the classifieds,
4. figure out your budget, and what kind of power your looking for.
5. go read up, tons of info out there to keep you busy for a while.

If you want to throw a turbo kit together yourself, here is a good place to start - http://www.atpturbo.com/mm5/me...e=VVW

GolfII/JettaII DIY FAQ
GolfII/JettaII Technical FAQ
Forced Induction FAQ
READ (read) through these 3 threads and then, after READING them, post questions in one of those forums pertaining to specific needs that weren't addressed for your situation.
Although they're pretty extensive so you probably shouldn't have many questions.
The knowledgeable members of those pages will be MUCH more inclined to help you if you read the stuff first, and then ask specific questions AFTER
