I was browsing the OEMpl.s website when I came across this buton. The site said you needed this button for the instalation of the Hill Holding "winter" feature. What is that, and are you able to install it on a GTI? ANy info would be appreciated.

you'll need a lot of stuff to get the hill hold to work. hill hold comes on passats.
the.ronin used the switch as a "no motion" switch.
and your link no workie.

FYI: There is no switch for hill hold.

I think our friend would like to know more about the hill hold feature than just the button.
I'd fill him in... but I don't know sh*t about it myself.

The hill hold function stops the car from rolling back on an incline. It works automatically and there is no switch to turn it on/off.
It is NOT the W button. W = winter driving programme.

Yeah. That is what I want to know.The OEMpl.s website inferred that you could install it in an MKV, and that this was the switch for it. I can't seem to get the link right, but the switch is on the second page under interiors under golf/jetta MKV.

"W"inter mode is a torque limiter for driving in snow - as far as I understand it.

Not really. My GTI (2007 Euro spec) has the hill hold function so do MKV R32s.

I saw an EOS V6 at the dealer (it was loaded) and it had a W button.
