Hmm... I wonder if GLI Power Recaro bases would bolt to these?

They most likely would fit on the power gli brackets. I have a friend that just got Recaro A8 (name of the seat, not the car they are from. They are aftermarket.) seats for his GTI and that is what he did. The only prob he had was he had to get longer alenbolts for the bracket to bolt to the seat, just slightly longer. I am really digging those seats in the proper colored A2 they would be cool! But i am not digging them for my car now!

yea, those seats will fit vw brackets. i have a friend with 2 sets of leather recaro seats bmw 318's. its not hard, u just undo the hog clips on the bottom take the fram off the seat (once u take the bak off the bottom) put the fabric and cushions on the vw brackets, re hog tie or zip tie them, and put the seat back on

Money, talks, i am sure that he would sell them if the price was right. I think that they were $1600 each before they were discontinued. Make an offer and i will relay it to him.

Wofford, what did you pay for yours?
He also told me that the only other person that he knows that has them is wofford
They are currently in one of wofford's old cars

Yea.. those seats are pretty gross... but in a Mars Red GTI, they'd be so ugly, that they'd rule!
As for the Recaro A8's... I want some. I friggin love those seats. I know how much they were new and I know how much even the leather ones are going for these day when people are willing to sell em. I know how much Wofford paid for his seats and I'm not at liberty to say but I can assure you, NOBODY will ever find a deal like that ever again. I made the guy with that other set of A8's an offer but havent heard back from him yet. Waiting.......

Dan has the set that was had for such a good deal but the color scheme is a little silly. Rich has made me two very generous offers...I'm working on it

You don't like pastels?!

No, but seriously, they are really comfortable, and his are not that tropically colorful, they are mostly black. (as the toucan sam bird from the box of fruit loops flies by). They are not like those ones that were on ebay a couple of days ago.
