Honda Fit Type-S

Next year, Honda will up the ante in the hot supermini stakes with the introduction of a hot (Type-) version of its award-winning supermini, the Fit. The Fit Type-S will have a 1.5-litre engine with 150bhp with 5-speed or automatic (rumoured option). And here's a pic:

This is likely in response to a turbo version of the Toyota Vitz (Echo hatchback), details of which I'll find out pretty soon. Lowered suspension, red-lighted white gagues and leather steering wheel and shift knob will also be part of the Type-S package.
Hmmm... interesting

hmm.... interesting...
not like we'll ever see that thing in the states though.
I wonder why not Type R thought? Does that mean it's not going to be a limited production version (like ITR was limited), but a larger scale production (like RSX-S)?
Re: Honda Fit Type-S (nsadhal)

Likely. This is Honda's answer to the 206 GTi, Ibiza 1.8T et al...
It will be interesting to see the hot hatch race now that Honda has entred this segment with the Fit. But Toyota's Vitz turbo sounds exciting too, finally a successor to the legendary Starlet turbo

I love it. If its tossable, put me down for two!

I sat in the Jazz (name in Europe) during the IAA. Pretty impressive small car, nice interior, huge trunk, The Type S would be a nice halo model. I´d prefer a more decent bodykit though.
Honda had a nice sport version on display at the IAA, which really looked decent (Personally, I´d prefer a different color, though).

Subtlety is the key, and the pic of the Fit Type-S shows it to be very subtle in its demeanour. This is its strength http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Damn, I'd buy that in a heartbeat over the MINI.
Shame on you Honda. http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif

Isn't Type-S supposed to be for Acura and Type-R for Honda?

Remember, Acura only exists in NA and Hong Kong?

I hope North America will warm up to the super-mini class soon.

If it weights 2,500 lb or below, and costs $15k or below, it's a worthy competitor. But looks? http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif Though it does look better than the Toyota Matrix.
