I have a carbon fiber hood on my accord, at higher speeds you can tell air is getting underneath it. The latch is GUARANTEED to hold, according to the manufacturer, but im still a tad paranoid. Should I go with black hood pins? I know this will just feed the stereotype in which im already situated in, but I dont want to have this thing flip up and kill me. Thanks.
PS: I would post this in some honda forum, but I would recieve responses like, "doo, wait till they come out wit da glow in da dark pins.." and whatnot.

are you pushing insane amount of power and speed that would require hoodpins? if so then go for them.. if not then you really dont need'm... but honestly.
If you want them, and feel safer with them.. then get'm
If you are worried that people will thing you are r!ce.. then dont do them, but it should be your decision, you have to drive the car.. we just have to look at it if we choose to look in your general direction

As long as they're black or silver they would look fine. Just not yellow or the LED models.

Hood pins on an actual carbon fiber hood is not rice. Hood pins on a metal hood painted black is. And glow-in-the-dark stick-on hood pins on a stock hood is just retarded.

Did you install the weather stripping on your CF hood? If not, make it look like the factory hood, which I'm assuming (VW does this) had some sort of weatherstripping to seal the hood so stuff like air getting under it does not happen.

i guess i could take the time out to drill all the 1/4" holes to mount the weatherstripping, hmm. Thanks for bringing that up. I still want the security of hood pins tho

I think my hood latch is guareenteed to 192 mph

At 150 it doesn't waiver a bit.

I just think that bare carbon fibre hoods look very nice and smooth without hoodpins. If you do the weather stripping, you shouldn't have a problem. Hood pins are the easy way out, and everyone with a CF hood seems to have them. Differentiate yourself from the herd!
