Hi everyone, i don't usually post in the mk1 forums, but hopefully in time i can join the family. So the story is, a week ago, i was working on a job site. A few streets down there was a body shop. So i said to myself i'll go check it out at lunch. So came lunch time, i took a walk to the shop and was looking around. Nothing interesting, just old cars. As i was about to leave, i walk by a fence and see a red rabbit thrown in the back. I freaked, i ran inside, asked if the rabbit was for sale. The guy says to me, " you want that piece of junk?" I told him i'd give him $400 for it. But the thing is, it's not his car. It was parked there for 2 1/2 years. So he left me the guys number and so far, he hasn't called me. So i decided to call him. He's on vacation. So Monday i will get a call from him.
About the car. It's a 1983 gti, all original, red. The body needs work obviously, but i don't care. Anything to get my hands on a rabbit gti.
I have an mk2 gti 2.0L 16v as a parts car. So i was thinking of swapping in my 2.0L 16v, the rear disks and my Recaro Trophy interior. Will the rear disks fit right in? Will my seats fit right in, or will i have to change the tracks? I know the rear seats wont fit, but i'll make it it
If anyone can help me out, it will be much appreciated. If you have any suggestions on what i can do to the car, that will be appreciated as well.
Thanks in advance,
Nick
