How about a "shooting brake" version. YOu know, a coupe like BMW's M Coupe. That would be cool. Maybe give it a panaramic roof?

that's what i'm talking about minus the panaramic roof though, don't want to sacarfice rigidity for anything, and the weight of the added glass wouldn't be cool

i doubt that would be possible, and besides that would ruin this car-to-be i don't want another econo-box car (chassis) with performance add-ons thrown on it to make a "sports" or "performance" model. this thing should be built on the miata chassis and only the miata chassis (assuming mazda were to build such a beast)
there a ton of econo boxs with bolt on mods from the factory or upgraded engine options that are called affordable sports cars, or sporty cars, but when you have the same chassis as a protege, civic, sentra, mkiv or mkIII you don't have a sports car, you can come close to sports car characteristics but will always be fighting understeer, and front end plow.
i want a chassis built for sporty fun from the ground up, mazda did that with the miata, so it's the chassis canidate
a fwd non-rigid chassis is not an option
give me miata chassis, with the 6spd with rear limited slip, and i'll supply the jrsc later...
you all have no idea how much i want this car that doesn't even exist, i dream about it at night, every night, or at least i have for the last 2 weeks, my girlfriend has seriously gotten mad at me for her waking up in the middle of the night to see me shifter and steering in my sleep
mazda please help me with my insanity...

oh CP where did you get those pics? or are they photoshopped? if that were the current bodystyle i'd be praying that there were coming out with it, i want that car sooo bad
the fact that they are the old body style is such a tease knowing that it never came out in a coupe , maybe mazda still has that concept car in a warehouse somewhere...hmmm
