Re: FV-QR (bagpipegoatee)

Someone needs to go get these. They're in Schmidt's, in a red Mk2 8v GTI. They quoted me $50 a piece, but I can't afford them right now.
Oh snap! 241 too! I win!

The whole interior was freaking perfect. Probably not so much after all the rain we just got(it had no hatch). The car had also just been re-painted. It had sweet alloys too, I don't know what they're called. Damn Schmidt's pricing system!!!

I would so take the front and rear seats, and put the rear fabric on my rear bench somehow. I am assuming it was a later gti, where the dash had a red stripe as well?

10-4, big bumper, big window car. I think it was a '91.

So why's it in a junkyard? Was it wrecked or is it just mechanical?

^^^That's my guess, for this car at least. It looked clean and shiny, an odd contrast from the other cars around it. It was already missing the core support, lights front and rear, fender flares, radiator, and hatch. The wheels and tires were really nice too. Money, people, money.

Re: FV-QR (66busman)

the guys at schmidts are douchebags
I tried to buy a mint rustfree rabbit from them..it had just come in and they hadn't processed the title yet or whatever. I offered them more than they would ever get parting it out.
They gave me attitude and a big fat no.
**** those guys....

FV-QR

we took the front end off that gti you speak of as well as the match and the rear bumper. Did you see the exhaust that car had on it, big thumbs up

Well either she is or she isn't currently. They're usually fairly accurate on this...

Oh yeah, congrats... #2? have fun.
At least at this point they still won't out number those in charge.

Re: FV-QR (brendo)

The question is how far a long she is. We just found out last week and they are estimating the baby to be 17 weeks.

That puts the delivery date at the end of August or the begining of September. I will know more on Thursday, when we have the big ultrasound.

Nawh. I will only mess with the suspension if I end up needing an alignment. And if I mess with suspension, I'm getting some Bilstien HD's. My wallet doesn't allow for that right now.
But my plans for now are:
-Rip the exhaust off, replace gaskets, fix leak somewhere.
-Make 'adapter' and replace ac airbox with non-ac airbox.
-Replace radiator fan switch, heater valve, coolant hoses.
-Fix some electrical wiring I am not happy with how I did.
-Eventually (Monday hopefully) get tires.
-Drive the piss out of it, and tune MegaSquirt some more. (My favorite part
)
-Probably some other odds and ends throughout break.
Normally college kids dream about going someplace warm for spring break. The only thing holding me together right now is looking forward to being with the bunny.
