Ok, the clutch seems to be grabbing normally, but lately after I go driving around I can smell it when I get out of the car. Now that has made me paranoid that the clutch feels weird, but overall it doesn't really seem to be performing any differently. Seems like it is catching pretty high but who knows..

When you shift and left off the clutch and your rpm's rev but the car goes no where.. the clutch isen't holding the power.. Mine was like that for 2 months.. i have to give it such little gas.. and going up hills was a bitch.. had to give it just a bit of gas.. Drove all the way to OC like that.. what a thrill..

Re: How do I know if my clutch is going bad? (H2oVento)

Yeah see it doesn't seem to be doing that at all (yet). When the clutch went on my last car it seemed like it was working fine, then one day I left my friends house and within a couple miles it just went from pulling out of his driveway fine to feeling a little weird to something is obviously wrong to hurry and turn around before the thing doesn't move at all. I guess since I just moved up here and I don't really have any friends to come get me I would like to avoid being stranded. Also don't want to spend money for no reason though (if it's fine). I guess I will have to keep an eye on it for a couple more weeks and see how it feels..

if any of you want a stock clutch, let me know.
i bought one new, for 50$, installed it, and drove for like 400miles. i NEVER hit WOT, because i have stock fueling now, and a turbo(in the middle of changes), had i hit WOT, my motor would be toast. the clutch is soooo fresh, you can still read the info that is printed on the friction area. I can take a pic as well. i will sell it for just 15$ plus shipping!!
if this clutch does not look soooooo barley used when you get it, i'll refund the money! it looks BARLEY scuffed, BARLEY.
email me!

Re: How do I know if my clutch is going bad? (speed51133)

be glad your clutch didn't do what mine did. i forget the brand, and i'm about to sound REALLY STUPID, but bear with me: the centermost part of my clutch plate rotated while the rest of my clutch was still spinning with the tranny. i was hydroplaning, so i hit the gas for the fun factor and then hit solid ground again. all of i sudden my speedo dropped back down, but the revs stayed up. whoops.
